Clean Beauty On A Budget
Looking to make the move to clean beauty but your budget is more Nivea than La Mer? Not to worry, I've got you covered with my super-cheap clean beauty buys.
These products rival your drugstore faves & even better, nothing is over $25.00. Some of these I've personally tried and some are just all-around faves with great reviews to back them up.
As the saying goes "Don't wash your face - micellar it!". Thanks Garnier, but I prefer to buy products from cruelty-free companies.
I really like the Swisse Micellar Makeup Remover for prepping the skin before a makeup application or for taking off my makeup at the end of the day. It's not the strongest against super-heavy, waterproof makeup, but considering it's one of the cheapest on the market I'm very happy with it.
I always advocate adding an oil to a skincare routine (yes - even those of us with oily skin!) and I love the ingredient list in the Life Basics by Nourished Life Superfood Facial Serum.
It's made up of a base of chia, hemp, avocado, olive and baobab oils (all super yummy foods that you could ingest in their whole forms for some beauty from the inside-out action) and is a pretty good price at $19.95, however at the time of writing it's on sale for $10.00.
I purchased my own Mineral Fusion Liquid Lip Gloss on sale for just over $5.00, however even at full price it's still really reasonable.
There's nothing crazy-special about this gloss, it's just a good topper to turn your lipstick ultra-glossy or add some shine to your bare lips. Get the clear version if you're after a dupe for the Mac Clear Lipglass which retails for $34.00.
I love these gorgeous lipsticks! They have a fab range of nude colours that look amazing when paired with the Mineral Fusion gloss.
All of the colours are vegan (no carmine - yay!), they're made in Australia & the packaging is super sleek.
A ridiculously cheap & effective brow pencil.
The Benecos Eyebrow Designer has decent pigmentation & staying power and is a great base to run through the brows before adding a powder if you want more drama.
This mascara is next on my list to try! It has some great reviews and is one of the green beauty classics.
The whole Lily Lolo range is very affordable, however not everything is vegan so be sure to read the labels carefully.
As most of the natural beauty products are stocked in online stores, it can be tricky to find a product you love without trying it first. I would recommend reading reviews and making use of samples before making the commitment to purchase the full size product. That way you can be sure you're making the most informed choice and not wasting your hard earned cash!
