Easy Summer Makeup

Updated: Apr 2, 2019

Summer is almost here! As the weather gets warmer I love to pair soft eyes with bright lips and glowing skin. I’ve listed the steps and the products used to create this classic & versatile look.

First, prep your skin by using the appropriate products for your skin type and if you’re going out in the daytime, remember to put some sunscreen on! My current favourite sunscreen for the face is the Andelou Naturals, Vitamin C Beauty Balm. Finish off with a primer - I like the La Mav, Organic Bio-Active Primer.

While the skincare is doing its thing, you can get started on the eyes & brows. For brows, I used the dark brown eyeshadow from the Ere Perez, Chamomile Eye Palette in Beautiful and brushed the Lavera, Eyebrow Styling Gel through to keep them in place.

Next, use a concealer the same colour as your skin tone and apply a light layer over your lid and lightly set with powder to prime the eyes. Take a blending brush and a light brown eyeshadow and blend through the crease and slightly upwards until there are no harsh edges. Sweep this same colour on the lower lash line.Take a medium toned brown and concentrate the colour on the outer corner of the lid and drag a small amount through the crease to deepen the colour slightly. Ensure everything is blended well.

Using a dark brown pencil liner, tightline and smudge the liner on the outer third of the lash line and apply a nude pencil to the lower waterline.

Apply mascara and false lashes if desired - I love the Hava Beauty Co, Individual Lashes.

Now it’s time to move on to the base. Start by applying your foundation - I used a mix of Au Naturale Cosmetics, Zero Gravity C2P Foundation and 100% Pure, Fruit Pigmented Healthy Foundation. Pop some concealer under your eyes and on any areas that need extra coverage then finish with a dusting of powder to set.

Take your bronzer and sweep it around the perimeter of your face, along the nose and on the cheeks for a bronzy glow. Add a pinky/peach blush to the apples of your cheeks and dust some highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones, tip of the nose, cupids bow, inner corners of eyes & brow bones.

Choose whatever bright colour you love as this eye look will go with pretty much any shade. The lip colour I used in the picture is Clove + Hallow’s Lip Creme in Damsel.
